cowT he country’s national tourist office chose “Uruguay natural” as its slogan. And this says it all.

In fact, Uruguay is still South America’s best kept secret with its unspoiled beaches, its colonial cities, endless green plains, its huge mouth-watering steaks and good wine. Uruguay, one of the smallest countries in South America, lies on the Atlantic Ocean coast sandwiched between Brazil and Argentina. Its landscape is made up of undulating plains, clear waters and dense forests.

Uruguay, the land on the river of the colourful birds (translated from the indigenous language “Guaraní”) has also been called the “Switzerland of South America”. Punta del Este – the famous summer resort - is attracting the “who’s who” from the continent and beyond. Everybody loves the security and the unprecedented feeling of peace the country transpires, the feeling that you can just be yourself in this place; no pressure, no stress. The mild climate, the pristine nature, miles and miles of uninhabited riverbanks and ocean coastline adorn this so far quite unknown spot.
